The Romanian�s Development Regions will get soon administrative and executive powers. The\r\nreorganization process is aimed to increase the regions competitiveness and to optimize the\r\nadministrative costs. This paper is focused on a research study made in The North East Region\r\nof Development from Romania, which is situated at the bottom of EU Regions ranking, with an\r\naverage GDP per inhabitant lower than 50 % of the EU-27 average. This region covers an area of\r\n3.684.983 ha representing 15.45% of the total area of the country and from demographically\r\npoint of view is the first among the eight regions of the country, with a population of 3.700.695\r\ninhabitants in 2012, representing 17.32% of the total population of Romania. Since in this\r\nregion authorities and decisional factors are still looking for the best practices and solutions for\r\nenhancing economic performances, this paper analyzes the current level of development and\r\nproposes solution towards a sustainable development.
